Ahh.. Halloween!

We had a wonderful Halloween this year. We kicked it off with a fun party for Casia. And I got creative. It was so much fun. It was called a "Spooky Dinner"
She was able to invite 5 friends and including her made a party of six. The girls loved it. We had lots of interesting things to eat and I told them a spooky story. Appetizer: Earth Worms!!( raspberry flavored jigglers) Then I got so involved with serving them that I didn't take any pictures of the rest of the courses. For the Main entree' Mummies (hot dogs rapped in dough and cooked to make them look like mummies) and a side of corn. ( for something healthy). For dessert I made pumpkin cookies, Lady fingers, and of course we had Bat droppings(whoppers) all over the table to snack on. The Girls got a kick out of it and it was a hit. If you enlarge the top picture you can see the Center Piece. I made labels and put the content inside. For example in one of the jars was floating Eyeballs. I put them in oil and put red food coloring in the top and the food coloring didn't separate in the oil so it looked like little blood drops. It was a lot of fun. And the girls got a kick out of their Server: Vivian Trick or Treating went great and the kids had a lot of fun. They got so much Candy and we are all still snacking on them. Casia a Witch Carter a Skeleton Cavry a Ladybug We had so much fun The best part separating and counting the Candy!!

Catching up!

I have a lot of catching up to do! We have all been so busy with the end of summer and school starting. First of all while working on the house and before school started I was able to get some of my bottling done which resulted in a wonderful harvest this year.
I was able to Harvest, cherries, salsa, carrots, corn, onions, apricot jam, apricot pinapple jam, plum jam, raspberry jam, strawberry jam, strawberry peach jam. And a lot of red potatoes in cold storage. Yummy!! Then we had a wonderful reunion on the Big Hornes just a few weeks before shool started. I love this reunion. It is definatly a highlight of my year especially when we get to make the 14 hour drive to wyoming. Well maybe not the drive but it is all worth it to be with the family. We had such a great time. I love my family! Well, then we came home and we started School. Casia is in 2nd grade and Carter started preschool this year. Oh, my big kids! Then their is the little one who is almost 1 1/2. She is so sweet and has fallin in love with shoes! And has found out that when she makes the biggest messes she doesn't get in trouble. Mom just runs for the camera. What?!?! And now onto the bigger project the HOUSE! I am almost to the point of saying the dreaded house just because it seems like it is taking forever. However we have made a lot of progress since the last update of the house. Lets see... the roof, framing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, septic system, power lines, water is all connected and finished. We still have the windows and doors, stucco, walls, paint, and the flooring and all of the wonderful finish work. But I keep a smile on my face and keep reminding myself how worth it, it will be. One of my favorite things about this house is that through the Front window(you can't really see what I am talking about because of the angle I took the picture) we get to look at this... Seriously so blessed to look out of the window at this. The Escalante Mountain. Beautiful! You'll notice in the picture of the house it is shaded, because we live up against the mountain across from this high rise which is still catching the rays. It glows! The pictures were taken with in a minute from eachother. And one last thought, Cavry doing what she does best- dressing up! (Cavry has Carters shoes on and his backpack and she is reading a book) Who says the kids can't possibly have fun out their while we work, along with the building of the house comes the building of a teter-toter. They love it!

Framing Finished Almost!!

We almost have all of the framing finished. It took about 5 days for the crew to complete what we have done so far. It's fun to actually see what it is going to look like and now we can really start seeing things take shape. Still lots of work to be done.
Almost altogether!
Finished with the wood.
Now the roof, plumbing, electrical, walls, flooring, and all the finishing touches. Their is still some porch stairs to be put on, the front porch pillars to do and just some little touch ups. Just a cute picture of my 2 youngest kids they were playing in the play crib together and then the house got really quiet. I went to look and this is what I found.

And the Construction begins!!

Ahhh!! The construction has finally taken off on our house. It is so exciting to know that not to long from now we will have a place to call ours. Were so excited and can't wait to be in our house. my mind has been running a lot lately and Damons too. He thinks internally of the house as he builds it and make sure all the measurements are right, I think of all the exterior things like what color I want this wall, I need this and this and this. It is kind of becoming a headache. Really! Oh well, we have to keep focused and try to be energetic about it. This is how far we have come. Fondatoin is Complete, Check!!
Cavry has been so silly lately. I love to watch as she grows and learns new things. She loves babies and she loves to cuddle them and take care of them. She really does a good job as you can see she hangs them up side down, bites their feet, usually bangs them on the ground and drags them on the floor. She gets mad at us if take them away or if Casia rightfully claims whats hers in the matter. She is too cute. She has started walking now she almost has a little gitty up in her strut. It is so cute, she gets excited and her mind must go faster then her legs. She says Momma, and Dadda all the time. We just have to mention dadda and she can't stop saying his name it is almost like she goes on a hunt for him yelling dadda. When I hold her, and she says momma, she will usually pat my face of lay her head on my shoulder and pat my back all the while saying momma, momma, momma. It is just amazing to feel the feelings we have when we are so blessed with these little wonderful spirits. It truly is what life is all about.

Where has the time gone?

I know that I have been terrible for not posting lately. So much has just been going on. We finished the month of April up with our many birthdays and finished up the month of May with all of the many school activities that were going on, leading us to our summer vacation. Yea!! I feel like the days just fly by and now entering into June. All nine of the children were able to be together for memorial day. Spouses from the northern kingdom didn't make it although we wish they could have been here. We had an enjoyable time together, with all of us. Sam had an unwanted accident. MOTORBIKES!! (very scary). That would explain why the older brothers are not in the photo. I told them to be back by Four that afternoon, and a no show. Thats what happens when you don't listen to your youngest sister. ( check out Becca's blog for details) All the grandkids that were here had an enjoyable time as they rose early and went to bed late. That is how I remember my vacations in Tropic.
It will be 7 years in September since mom has passed away. I think of her often and hope she would be happy with me in raising my family. Memorial day is such a good reminder of all the ones who have past on. I reflected on the memorial days in wyoming. Every year we would go to the Greybull cemetary and think about all the family there. It was fun to get together with family and be able to visit the cemetary.

Just a little update

One week and counting. Okay so I knew It was going to be bad but why is it getting worse??? For those of you who don't know I am one of those unfortunate adults who had to get their tonsils out. Actually I have been doing pretty good. Everyone that I talked to who had theirs out when they were older said oh be prepared to be down for months. Well a mother of three, I can't do that which I think has helped me in recovering until now. It is painful!! I am trying to get off my meds but find that I still need them. They told me it would get worse before it gets better so their is hope I think:)

The annual Nascar trip!!

Where is Damon? Damon is enjoying himself this weekend away in Las Vegas Nevada watching the Nascar race. He is pretty lucky that he doesn't live too far away to go and enjoy a weekend away. His favorite driver is Matt Kenseth and he has won the last two races so he is very excited. Where is Megan? Megan is at home this weekend with her three children. I was trying to go with him but the thought of taking the kids to Vegas was enough to shut the idea down:) Home is where I would rather be. So we are going to do some fun things together like a movie and popcorn and maybe head down to St. George for the day we'll see. So alone we both are for the weekend. Damon went with his brother and his nephew who is 7 and is so excited to watch the race, so I'm sure they are having a wonderful time.

Happy Birthday Carter!!

Carter's Four!!
Carter turned 4 yesterday and he had a wonderful birthday!! He got lots of fun toys and lots of money!! Thanks to everyone for making Carter's birthday so fun. (if you look at the cake you will notice that the cover had been taken off time and time again just to wait for the anticipation of eating it. SOOOO FUN!!) Happy Birthday Bud!!

It just keeps getting worse!!

Poor Baby!!
It just keeps getting worse! Just as you think she is getting better she gets worse again. Cavry had an allergic reaction to her ammoxacillion. After she has been on it for 7 days she broke out. She is such a good well natured baby and she still is so good. She acts like it doesn't even bother her which is good. It makes it easier for her to have to deal with it and for me.
She's my litttle STRAWBERRY!!

It's been to long!

Sweet, Sweet Carvy!!
Well might I just start off by saying that February and March are the hardest months for our family with kids being SICK in the years past and it seems like this year is going to be the same!! We have all been fighting off colds and fevers. Cavry is our longest child to have this on going sickness. About 3 weeks ago she was fighting a cold and a fever. On the recovery side of that she started a new sickness- an eye infection and a terrible runny nose. We took her in to see the doctor and she had an ear infection in early stages so we caught that before it got out of control, he put her on some antibiotics and up until last night she was on the mend and now she has a temperature of 103 and is not breaking. So we have been alternating motrin and tylenol and just as we get one down about 20 minutes later she throws up. Then we adminster her antibiotics and she throws that up as well. In the meen time she still has her great personality and loves to play even though she has a 103 temp. As you can tell we aren't getting anywhere oh yes and on top of that I get really sick and end up going to the doctor and find out its time to get those infected tonsils out!! Oh No. So, I know I need them out because I battle Strep throat about 4 times a year and he just said its time. March 5th is the big day and I am sooo scared. I know its just my tonsils but the whole idea of just getting put out and the recovery that comes with it. This is what we have been doing for the last 3 weeks if you have been wondering what we have been up to.
