Getting ready For winter

Damon and I went to Cedar City on Saturday and loaded 3 ton of pellets on a trailer so that we will be ready for winter. We also got them for dad as well so that he won't have to make special trips to Cedar City in the winter to only fill up his trunk with 5 bags at a time to get through just 1 week of warmth. His basement is full of pellets to the ceiling, but it sure smells nice from the wood. The picture does not do justice of how many pellet bags we have they go beyond the door into the next room, take a right into stevens entrance of his room and oh yes behind the picture to the right at the base of the stairs leaving a walk space through it all. You have got to love winter, but at least we will all be warm and don't have to travel in the snow to go get some pellets.
All the canning that happened because of our backyard. I am so thankful for all of this as we prepare for the winter. I still have to do pears, their not ready yet but soon! These shelves contain, salsa, tomato juice, peaches, cherries, and dear meet. I feel like I am doing okay with my skills of learning how to can food. It is just so easy to have on hand, and it also tastes better.

Reality Check!

Well, the job that Damon has been working for he didn't get. We believe that everything is alright and that our lives will be taking a new direction. Ever since Last October he has been hoping for the School District's Maintenance Supervisor. Just a few reasons why we wanted it.
  1. He would be doing exactly what he loves, building and would have a better salary.
  2. We could build in Tropic.
  3. He would have a company car and would save us a bunch of money in traveling
  4. Oh yes did I mention we could build in Tropic.
Oh well, we knew that we might have not got the job, so we prepared for it by having plan b which meant that we would have to move to Panguitch. And moving now is our best option. It is closer to where Damon works which is still for the School District but just not the supervisor, but that means that I will have to drive back and forth to Ruby's 20 miles one way 4 days a week for 7 months out of the year. Which is better in the long run. Unless anyone can find a plan C. The lord blesses us in ways that we might not understand as we prayed very much for this position, but he has a plan for us and we are happy and healthy and that is all that matters. Well here's hoping for a Plan C.

I Love to see the Temple

Today Damon and I had the opportunity to go to the Temple and attend his cousins wedding. Their is such a peace even when you pull up in the parking lot it's just amazing. I started thinking about how I love to come to the Temple and forget about daily life. In primary this year for our program we are singing I love to see the Temple and the children sing it so powerfully. I remember singing this song and even learning it in primary. I realized how strong the words are to this song, and everyone who hears the tune, they know the song immediately. But it's true I love to see the Temple. How grateful I am for Temples. (we forgot our Camera and could not even take a picture of his cousin and his bride, but I just thought I would share my feelings).

Four Wheeler For Free, any takers? Theirs a catch, tools dumped in the gas tank. If you can fix it you can have it. Umm... run that by Damon he will take it and have it running in no time. And that is just what happened. About one and a half days of pure patience. It paid off we have our self a free four wheeler for the kids. Carter will put his helmet on right when he gets up and waits for Damon to get home so they can head out. What fun it sure is! (cavry hasn't got a ride yet, that's okay with me)
My Cute Kids
My great Photographer Carter!
This past week I have really been focusing on my mother. It has been six years since her passing on September 2nd. Time sure goes by fast. I was bottling tomatoes this week and while I was working on this I was remembering my mother. I remember coming home from school and finding her always in the kitchen, this time she was bottling tomatoes and working so hard. Their were a few questions that I sure would have liked to have asked her as I was bottling to make sure I was doing it correctly. I wished at that moment that I would have paid more attention to her as she was using the pressure cooker. I would just help her prepare the tomatoes. She was such a wonderful Mother and I sure do miss her. This picture was taken in May on Memorial day 2008. (Casia 6, Carter 3, Cavry 4 wks)

Yea!!

Today is Saturday and it has taken me about three days to figure out how to really work almost everything. I am excited now to start truly blogging. Cant Wait!!
